Background

Jason Cooper is the Principal of Cooper Real Estate Advisors, a Southlake-based firm providing land brokerage, development consulting and capital advisory services across Texas and the Southwest. He brings 28 years of experience in real estate brokerage, lending and investment, and in the acquisition, entitlement, development and disposition of land.

Most recently, Jason was Senior Director of Acquisitions for Minto Communities in Texas. There he led the team that closed Minto's first Texas master-planned community (3,100 acres, 12,000 single-family lots) and completed due diligence on its first Texas Latitude Margaritaville active-adult community (1,400 acres, 4,500 lots).

Before Minto, Jason was a Director at Hines, running the single-family rental platform across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. He oversaw everything from sourcing and investment committee approval to joint venture and development financing, predevelopment, dispositions and recapitalizations. He also served as Vice President of Land for Mattamy Homes and as General Manager of Walton Global's Dallas office, where he oversaw a 34,000-acre land portfolio.

Jason spent more than a decade with Stratford Land. He opened the firm's Denver office, later managed investments across Texas and Colorado, and negotiated more than $260 million in land purchases, joint ventures and dispositions. Earlier, he founded and ran Stratford Realty Capital, a $41 million land lending platform that originated $43 million in acquisition and development loans.

He holds a BBA in Real Estate and Finance from the University of North Texas and is a licensed Texas real estate broker.
